Clark Valentine ( USA)
Outcome exhibition: Nothing / 28 -29 June 2025 / Venue: Patan Museum
Clark Valentine (b. 1997) is an American artist based in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he maintains an active studio practice. He earned an MFA in Drawing from Colorado State University. Through meticulous, repetitive drawing processes, Valentine investigates themes of spiritual practice, phenomenology, and self-awareness. Employing everyday tools and materials, his works become records of physical, emotional, and spiritual states, while their geometric structures create a dynamic tension between movement and stillness, inviting contemplation and presence.
Valentine’s work has been exhibited extensively across five continents in museums, galleries, and academic institutions. His drawings are included in the permanent loan collection of King’s College, Cambridge, UK, and the Heintzman Collection, pledged to the Peoria Riverfront Museum, Illinois. He has presented solo exhibitions internationally, including at the Department of Culture in Dolores, Uruguay, and the Patan Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Kathmandu, Nepal.
An active participant in international residency programs, Valentine has undertaken residencies at the School of Visual Arts in New York, Barac Mannheim Residency in Germany, Residencia Vatelon in Uruguay, and Space A in Nepal. He is also a founding member of the I Found U Collective, an international artist group exploring consciousness and digital space through collaborative practice. Valentine currently serves as Assistant Professor, Head of Drawing, and BFA Coordinator at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Shree Liton Chandra Sarker (Bangladesh)
Outcome exhibition: Nothing / 28 -29 June 2025 / Venue: Patan Museum
Liton (b. 1979, Narayanganj, Bangladesh) is a visual artist whose multidisciplinary practice encompasses painting, watercolor, drawing, woodblock printing, and mixed-media installation. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Narayanganj Fine Arts Institute in 2008 and completed his Master of Fine Arts at the University of Development Alternative (UODA), Dhaka, in 2009.
Deeply influenced by mythology, spirituality, philosophy, and the complexities of human consciousness, Sarkar creates evocative visual narratives that merge imagination with lived experience. His works often inhabit a space between the real and the metaphysical, employing symbolic imagery, layered forms, and expressive mark-making to explore themes of memory, transformation, duality, and inner reflection.
Over the years, Sarkar has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions, workshops, and artist residency programs, including the Kathmandu International Artist Residency (KIAR), Nepal. His solo exhibition Mythical Mind presented an extensive body of works examining mythical and psychological landscapes, while the two-person exhibition Nothing at the Patan Museum in Kathmandu further expanded his engagement with existential and philosophical inquiry.
Through a sustained exploration of both traditional and contemporary artistic languages, Liton Chandra Sarkar continues to contribute significantly to the evolving landscape of contemporary Bangladeshi art, fostering dialogue between cultural heritage, personal mythology, and contemporary experience.
