Javier García Sánchez (Spanish, based in the USA)

Residency Period: August-September 2025

Exhibition: Songs from the Bardo / Date: 8-9 September 2025 / Venue: Patan Museum, Lalitpur

Javier García Sánchez is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose practice explores the intersection of nature, memory, and the human condition. Working primarily with watercolor, sumi ink, gouache, charcoal, and mixed media on washi paper, his work reflects themes of impermanence, vulnerability, and inner transformation. Inspired by natural landscapes and contemplative observation, he creates poetic visual narratives that invite viewers to reflect on emotional resilience and the unseen dimensions of experience. His intuitive process balances abstraction and representation, emphasizing the beauty found in imperfection and change. Javier has exhibited his work internationally in Spain, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Lithuania, and the United States, including solo and group exhibitions in Brooklyn, London, and Palanga. He has participated in artist residencies in Lithuania and has collaborated with organizations and clients such as Creative Time, the Dalai Lama Foundation, IBM, BetterUp, and Central Saint Martins. Through his practice, Javier seeks to inspire deeper self-awareness and foster meaningful connections between people, nature, and the transformative power of art.
