Promise Gurung
Promise Gurung is a talented Nepali artist known for her diverse practice in watercolor painting, installation art, and printmaking. She has participated in numerous exhibitions, including Pahichan at Pokhara Art Gallery (2018), Between Lines and Layers at Siddhartha Art Gallery (2022), and Beautiful Fear (2022), showcasing her creative evolution. Promise’s work often addresses social and emotional themes, as seen in exhibitions like Hedonistic Numbness (2022) and Women in Action (2023). A recipient of several awards, Promise won first place in local and inter-school competitions in 2014 and 2015. She completed her BFA in Studio Art from Kathmandu University in 2022 and has worked as an art teacher at Navdeep School in Pokhara. Promise’s artistic journey also includes international exposure, such as her participation in the CRACK International Art Camp in Bangladesh. Her work continues to push boundaries and engage with contemporary social issues.
