Lucy Zola (Australia)

Lucy Zola, born in 1995 in Adelaide, Australia, is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in experimental film, sonic art, photography, and ceramics. She completed her Bachelor of Contemporary Art at the University of South Australia in 2020 and is currently pursuing an Honours degree at Sogang University in Seoul as a recipient of the New Colombo Plan Scholarship.

Lucy’s artistic practice focuses on creating immersive environments that explore themes such as identity, mental health, and the environment. She often utilizes psychogeography and soundwalking to translate her experiences into audiovisual installations. Her notable work, “Extrospection” (2020), exemplifies her innovative approach, combining sound and visual elements.

In addition to her artistic endeavors, Lucy has curated several exhibitions, including the Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition. She is committed to community engagement and plans to hold workshops and presentations during her upcoming residency in Kathmandu, where she aims to deepen her artistic practice while reconnecting with the vibrant culture that inspired her career.
