Quynh Vy (USA)

Residency period: April to June

Quynh Vy is a multimedia artist and writer who likes to work in ink, textiles, and collage and is now experimenting with installation. She is inspired by graffiti, music, poetry, horror movies, and connecting to ancestral roots. Much of her work comes out of quiet observation and is an invitation to explore the dream state alive in our daily lives, becoming in tune with the textures and eerie worlds around us. This underlying poetry of life is the heartbeat to much of what she makes and fuels her curiosity to continue creating. Formerly she has worked in a large federal prison in California, taught art in East Oakland, and participated in a Subzero: Subculture and Arts Festival in San Jose, California.
